Arbitration Rules
Official rules and procedures for Decision Layer arbitration
1. General Provisions
These rules govern all arbitration proceedings conducted through Decision Layer. By submitting a case to Decision Layer, all parties agree to be bound by these rules and the arbitrator's final decision.
2. Arbitrator Selection
Decision Layer uses AI-powered arbitrator selection to ensure impartiality and expertise. The arbitrator is selected based on:
- Subject matter expertise
- Absence of conflicts of interest
- Availability and case load
- Geographic and cultural considerations
3. Case Filing and Procedures
3.1 Filing Requirements
To file a case, the claimant must provide:
- Clear statement of the dispute
- Relevant supporting documentation
- Contact information for all parties
- Requested relief or remedy
3.2 Response Period
Respondents have 30 days from notification to file their response. Extensions may be granted for good cause shown.
4. Evidence and Documentation
All evidence must be submitted in digital format. Accepted formats include:
- PDF documents
- Images (JPG, PNG, GIF)
- Audio recordings (MP3, WAV)
- Video files (MP4, AVI)
5. Decision and Award
The arbitrator will render a decision within 60 days of case completion. The decision will include:
- Findings of fact
- Application of relevant law or contract terms
- Final award or remedy
- Reasoning for the decision
6. Confidentiality
All arbitration proceedings are confidential. Information disclosed during the arbitration may not be used in other proceedings without consent of all parties.
7. Fees and Costs
Decision Layer operates on a transparent fee structure:
- Filing fee: $299
- Arbitrator fee: $150 per hour
- Administrative fee: $99
- Document processing: $25 per 100 pages
8. Appeals and Modifications
Arbitration decisions are final and binding. Limited grounds for appeal include:
- Evident partiality or corruption
- Arbitrator exceeded their powers
- Procedural irregularities affecting the outcome
- Fraud or misconduct
9. Governing Law
These rules are governed by the Federal Arbitration Act and applicable state law where the dispute arises.
